Step 1: Verification at Issuing & Regulatory Authorities

Before any ministry attests your document, its authenticity must be verified at the source:

A. Educational Certificates (Degrees, Diplomas, Transcripts)

• University Degrees: Must be verified and stamped by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or the issuing university registrar.

• Diplomas & Technical Certificates: Verified by NACTVET (National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

• Secondary School Certificates (Form 4 / Form 6): Verified by NECTA (National Examinations Council of Tanzania).

B. Civil Documents (Marriage & Birth Certificates)

• Must be verified and stamped by RITA (Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency) in Dar es Salaam.

Step 2: Attestation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA Tanzania)

Once verified by the respective statutory board, the document is submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation (MFA) in Dar es Salaam or Dodoma.

The MFA places an official legal authentication stamp and signature on the reverse side of the original document.

Step 3: Consular Legalization at the Saudi Embassy in Dar es Salaam

With the MFA Tanzania stamp secured, the document is lodged at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam.

• Requirement: The embassy verifies the MFA stamp and applies the official Saudi Consular Legalization seal.

• Certified Arabic Translation: Educational and civil certificates must be accompanied by a certified, legally recognized Arabic translation.

Step 4: Final MOFA Attestation in Saudi Arabia

Upon arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the document receives its final authentication stamp at any Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) service center in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dammam.
